Licensed Acupuncturist

Emily (she/her) is a licensed acupuncturist and practitioner of East Asian Medicine in Portland, OR. She received her masters of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) and holds a Diplomate of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). After finishing school, Emily traveled to Nepal where she worked as an acupuncturist and primary care physician, treating roughly 1,000 patients over the course of 3 months. Working in the remote community clinic of Nepal provided Emily with experience outside her usual scope of practice. During her time in Nepal, she treated and managed care for patients with a myriad of different health conditions, including: hypertension, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD), stroke recovery, ear infections and medication management. Emily has experience treating a wide range of medical conditions, which include (but not limited to) mental health, trauma, chronic pain, digestive disorders, musculoskeletal conditions and more. Adjusting to the patients needs, her style is a mix of both TCM and Orthopedic style acupuncture. Treatments generally include cupping, gua sha and shiatsu bodywork as well. Emily is currently studying under Matt Callison, working towards a Sports Medicine Acupuncture certificate. Her approach is gentle, welcoming and intentional. East Asian medicine has an emphasis on approaching health with a holistic lens; integrating the mind, body and spirit. Emily strongly believes that our body has an inherent ability to heal itself given appropriate time and space. In her free time you can find Emily with her mini-labradoodle Ruby exploring the vast wilderness of the PNW. She loves to backpack, hike, ski and frolic outside. She is also an avid traveler and hops on an adventure as much as possible.
