Nutrition Programs

At Quest, we believe health and nutrition go hand in hand and that nutrition is an essential building block in a healthy life.

Quest Center began offering access to fresh, healthy food over 20 years ago to individuals living with HIV. The goal was to offer nutritious foods to a community living with chronic illnesses. Now, nutrition education  and healthy food access has expanded to be an important role in our addiction and recovery program (FSR), and chronic pain program (WISH) at Quest Center. In addition, Quest Center offers nutrition programs that engage clients in nutrition education and community building.

Nutrition Night

Our weekly Nutrition Night is held every Thursday evening and is a free meal offered to all Quest community members. It is led by a Nutrition Coordinator and relies on donations from our local Whole Foods to create fresh, healthy meals for our community.

Nutrition night is currently being held on Thursday evenings at Quest Center’s Multnomah Location.

Please find information on our current Nutrition Night protocol here.

Nutrition Workshop

Our weekly Nutrition Workshop is held every Thursday evening and precedes the Nutrition Night dinner. Our free Nutrition Workshop explores many themes of building a healthy diet. Clients will learn more about developing a healthy eating pattern that meets their health goals and lifestyle. Themes for the weekly workshop include: how to make bone broth, benefits of medicinal herbs, and more.

Quarterly Nutrition Group

Our Quarterly Nutrition Group is held for 8-10 weeks every quarter and follows a curriculum of nutrition education. It is integrated with our mental health department, and is open to any Quest client. It is facilitated by a Nutrition Coordinator and follows themes which relate to our programs. For example, curriculum topics can range between anti-inflammatory diets to help manage chronic pain, vegetarian diets, and how to cook on a budget.

Our Nutrition Group is available to all currently engaged clients!

All three of these programs offer different ways for clients to engage and start making nutrition changes in their lives. The information gained in these classes allow clients to gain health literacy and agency as they move through Quest’s health programming.
