Manager of Department of Medicine, Licensed Acupuncturist and Registered Nurse

Felicity has been engaged in healthcare settings since 2004, when she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Portland. She received a Providence scholarship based on merit, character, and interview, which paid for her nursing education. She then worked for St Vincent Hospital as an RN in the heart of Portland, Oregon, for 7 years. She gained experience working with a variety of individuals and was exposed to many different medical environments. It was here that she also gained interest in acupuncture and Chinese medicine, as well as other modalities, which inspired the human capacity to heal. She was often invited to speak or engage in innovative work being done in the hospital in partnership with nursing administrators.

She went to the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) and obtained her Master of Science in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in 2011, and was nominated to be the representative speaker for her graduating class’s commencement. She then spent 3 months in a rural village in Nepal, and spent much of that time treating subsistence farmers in chronic pain or with very limited access to medical care, which required direct screening and referrals in partnership with the local health post. Felicity also co-taught auricular acupuncture and community health with David Eisen for 4 years at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. She then began teaching with the University of Portland School of Nursing and taught as a clinical supervisor for nursing students for their community health rotations at a subsidized housing community, as well as Rose Haven. She also taught in the Integrative Health and Wellness Department (now public health department), teaching foundations of health education and health promotion.

She has been engaged with Quest for an extended period of time (since 2008) and now finds joy in creative and collaborative solutions to assist individuals in accessing affordable and quality healthcare. She has developed and assisted in developing numerous community acupuncture programs in partnership with other organizations throughout the greater Portland area. She specializes in treating chronic pain, women’s health, addictions, mental wellness, and HIV.

Most of all, she believes in the power of community and how this influences not only individuals but also collective healing. Stronger communities also benefit the health of society.
