Peer Recovery Service Navigator (BHRN)

Elyjah Jonathan Fritz-Rafael, born in Portland, Oregon, spent much of his life in the Republic of Palau and Guam, where he developed strong connections to his family and culture. In his late 20s, he returned to Portland for new opportunities. After overcoming several years of addiction, Elyjah graduated from a treatment program, which deeply inspired him to help others facing similar challenges.

Elyjah is passionate about recovery and believes in the power of cultural awareness and competency, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care. His experiences have shaped his approach to supporting individuals, recognizing the importance of honoring diverse backgrounds and providing compassionate, non-judgmental care. He is committed to fostering an environment of safety and healing, where every person is empowered to move forward in their recovery journey.

Elyjah is a Certified Recovery Mentor, Peer Support Specialist, and Certified Addiction Counselor Registrant. He has also served as a house manager and interim director for LGBTQIA2S+ affirmative housing and other housing programs, demonstrating his dedication to inclusivity and community support.

Currently, Elyjah works as the BHRN Navigator and Outreach Coordinator at Quest Center for Integrative Health while pursuing his degree in Behavioral Health. He is particularly interested in understanding how addiction influences thoughts and behaviors. In his free time, Elyjah enjoys spending quality time with his dog, Lulu, participating in support groups, traveling, and connecting with family and friends.
