About:
In this 12 week group, we will explore our relationship to pleasure. Who and what taught us how we are allowed to feel good? Who, what, and how taught us to turn away from our bodies, whether it was about rest, sex, food, or movement? How can we begin to reclaim our birthright to pleasure and rebuild trust with our bodies? How does centering pleasure and joy act as resistance to dominant systems and systems of oppression? We will access weekly readings, journaling and other reflective exercises, and group processing to engage in rich internal and group work, with the goal of increasing healing with our bodies and increasing the connection among our physical, emotional, mental, sexual, and spiritual selves.

This group is based on the book Pleasure Activism by adrienne maree brown. Having a copy of your own can be supportive to participating in this group. This group is also informed by concepts from intuitive eating, Health at Every Size, materials from The Center for Body Trust, information from Why Good Sex Matters, and other sex therapy materials.

In order for a rich and supportive group experience, it is expected that participants will commit to the entirety of the group.

Open to program participants of: Quest’s Mental Health Program, and private pay clients.
