Exploring Body Trust

Day/Time: Thursday, 3:00-4:30pm

Start Date: 3/6/25 (No Group 5/1/25 or 5/8/25)

Location: Via Zoom for the first 6 weeks, In-person Room 222 for the last 8 weeks

Facilitators:

Katie Borofka, MPH, LCSW, CST, & Certified Body Trust® Provider (she/her): Katie is a queer cis woman in a straight-sized body with a deep commitment to creating therapeutic spaces for exploring sexuality, gender, relationship health, and radical reconnection to our body’s wisdom.

Hillary Reno, LCSW, CADC III, MAC (she/her/they): Hillary is a fat-bodied cis queer rebel-hearted human and dedicated knowledge seeker who believes deeply in the reclamation and reauthoring of one’s story.

About: In this 14 week psychoeducation and process group, we will bravely cultivate a radical and counter-cultural space together to explore questions related to dieting, body image, eating and movement patterns, systems of oppression and privilege, and new ways of embracing acceptance and grief to deeply honor our body’s innate wisdom and our body stories.

Each week will cover a broad topic and offer information, specific exercises, and discussion questions for deeper reflection, as well as follow up resources for additional learning.

This group centers the lived experience and wisdom of people who live in larger bodies, although people of all body sizes are welcome and celebrated.

This is a mixed-gender group. Please note that this group does not promote weight loss strategies.

Open to program participants of: Mental Health and FSR/LINK/TRI
