Harty is a dedicated practitioner of healing modalities that integrate mind, body and spirit. She has taught Qigong for two years at the Quest Center in Oregon City as well as classes at acupuncture schools and at her home on the edge of the Mt. Hood Wilderness south of Portland. She holds multiple teaching certificates through both Mt. Emei and the Ling Gui schools of Qigong and Daoist arts.
She received her education in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland and received her Bachelors degree in Applied Psychology from Montana State University. She practices Kiiko Matsumoto Style Japanese Acupuncture as well as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) style, 5 element and Dr.Tan; she also practices Myofascial Massage and Cranial-Sacral therapy.
She was brought to her acupuncture education through her studies in Psychology, realizing that the Chinese medical systems had a primordial, far-reaching understanding of the mind-body connection that has withstood the test of time and become the focus of much modern research.
Harty strongly believes in utilizing ancient wisdom to solve modern problems.
She utilizes styles of acupuncture centered around calming the two-way system that unites emotional stress with physical pain and imbalance. By teaching her Qigong students and acupuncture patients means of calming and integrating their own system, she hopes to instill self-regulation and agency that will reduce pain and stress to help to empower all of us.
Harty is honored to be a part of the diverse and transformative community that is Quest, and can't wait to work with you all.
